Jesus Christ once said to apostle Peter, "Peter, upon this rock I will build my church."

Sometime in the morning of October 22, 2011, last year, the ground breaking and blessing of the site of our proposed church edifice took place amidst a slight downpour. Such an unforgettable event and ceremony which was well attended by a group of Catholic devotees who braved the rain, was spearheaded and officiated by no less than our faithful God's servants Rev. Fr. John Warret and Fr. Quoc Dinh Nguyen.

At long last, for only after a brief period of 7 months our new church edifice has finally, definitely and proudly risen.

Such an endeavor and accomplishment was quite a great revelation in itself for that matter.  Just think of it!  Such a gigantic task was completed and accomplished for only a matter of seven months. No doubt that Japanese construction ranks quality among the top of the world. But, also this has something to do with individuals endowed with golden hearts.  As always perceived, we have particular roles to play in this life, one way or another.  God has blessed us with unique talents.  We will be great not in comparison with others but only by being the radiantly beautiful person God has meant us to be. (continued...)

We have to be indefatigable to do our work. We have to be alert of the talents God has gifted us with. The labor and toil was bitter and hard but the prize once the goal is attained is perhaps sweeter and worth keeping for eternity. It was hard but not impossible, even if the road were strewn with impossibilities, many hands/hearts working together simply made it easy. We were given a great opportunity to expose ourselves beyond our comfort zones as we collaborated and worked hand in hand with the KASAPI group in Kawagoe. There were many obstacles which tend to block our way but banking on the strength of our devetion and trust in the Lord we finally succeeded.

Praise God! Our new church has risen.

Fr. Waret said that the design of this church was arranged so that people will not be before the altar but instead around the altar.  Remarkably, it really does promote more life to the holy mass. It reminds us of how Jesus used to preach outdoors and everyone was around him. Plus, everyone can now clearly see how good-looking the altar boys are.

Of course, nothing else feels more special than having a new home and the Bishop celebrates its honorable blessing in it. It has been a priviledge having Bishop Marcelino Tani bless the new church and celebrate the first holy mass.

One Great thing the new church is so blessed with is the floor area itself. It is about twice the size compared to the older one. Since it is built with the latest innovations of Japanese construction, it obviously boasts an architectural finish of the modern world. However, three car parking spaces means only one thing, come earlier than others, and you will be blessed.

Kami-Fukuoka Catholic community never had more members than ever. Comprised of Christians from

different races and culture, we soon realized that our population could no longer fit in one single

photo.

Instead, it took two marvelous camera Flicks to have a photo of the entire congregation.

But for us Filipinos, two photos are way too unsatisfactory. As long as moments are still there, we are always prepared to give our bestest smiles.

Yes! another moment found by photographer AEL at the Church's doorstep. Pectyur!

Pectyur! Pectyur! Pectyur! is probably the most common phrase before every moment is captured. Plus, a little endeavor would always help.

To get the new church as a background, we dont mind crossing the street and walk into this vacant parking lot for that one good pose.

And so the Pectyur goes on and on and on...

» Farewell, Fr. Quoc Dinh Nguyen

It has been said that man by nature is vain and conceited. While we continue our temporary journey in this world, we will be going after so many things (after so many things: riches, fame, glory, reputation, etc.) Yet, we usually end up empty because we wil not be satisfied. Sadly, we crave for more than what is enough of these temporal things. We will still be facing for that something that will fulfill us, for that somebody who will give us peace and contentment.  And who is this...

» Fundraising for Church Building

"If there's a will there's a way"... so goes the saying that amply inspired and boosted the morale of some ardent parishioners of the Filipino community in a small Catholic parish located somewhere in Saitama, Japan. It's really interesting to note that the Kamifukuoka Church has to be reconstructed due to prevailing circumstances, thereby causing temporary inconvenience and havoc among the devouted parishioners mostly Filipinos. Thus, the spirit of "bayanihan" started to knock at the heart of...
