An Open Letter To all The Members of KCIC
November 4, 2011
Brothers and Sisters:
Greetings!
At the outset, allow us to tell you that this letter is prompted by the noblest of all our emotions.
Dai ichi ni, how we wish to return and to reciprocate the wonderful things you had bestowed unto us! As the Italian put it, "Veni, Vedi, Veci"... which means "I came, I saw, I was conquered!" Indeed, the very instance when we arrived here in this wondrous place fittingly dubbed as the "land of the rising sun," we couldn't help but conclude that such was very true in the real sense of the word. When the heart is full, the mouth has less. We ran short of words to describe and express our admiration, so much so, when my wife and I met you for the very first time at the birthday party, subsequently followed by the church activities, meetings, etc.
All those wrapped into one, becomes a wonderful package of "Love" which we will keep and bear an indelible imprint deep in our hearts till the sunset of our lives. Thirty days is too long for a dull and boring vacation, but it's too short for a very, very ecstatic and colorful one. You have won our hearts and we can declare that because of you we have found a new home, away from home - here in Japan! Just like the wonderful and captivating blooming flowers here in Japan, "gratitude" is the sweetest flower that blooms in our hearts at this moment. For what more could we ask for? The whole-hearted generosity, the kindness and those sweet smiles emanating from your finely-chiseled faces. They were like soathing balms that healed and cured our homesick spirits.
As a final gesture, permit us therefore to use these two meaningful words in the dictionary. One is a glorifying word while the other is such a very painful one. These are the words: "Thank You" and "Goodbye."
Thank you for everything, our OFWs - our dear brothers and sisters. May God repay you for all your goodness. May you find the proverbial "pots of gold" here in this foreign land. For us tourists, we have found in you - "hearts of gold"!
Goodbye and farewell our dear homo-sapiens in the KCIC! May your tribe increase!!! We are now going back to our beloved Philippines! We will miss you. Doumo arigatougozaimashita! Sayonara! Paalam! May God keep you and may you keep God too!
Lovingly yours, Papa Ernie & Mama Lita Rebosura
